Beth at sunset

The broken girls are the flowers of the earth. They grow through tough conditions, they bloom for themselves.
— R. H. Sin

The quote above was shared with me by Beth, and of course, it is marvelously perfect! I'm loving this quote so much, too, as I, myself navigate the changes in life, and follow the consistent changes. It seems nature herself in her changes and blooming remains such an incredible constant. Change itself is what is the same. So let us each beautifully bloom. And so we shall, and so we must.

Beth was so amazing this evening! I loved working with her! She very willingly climbed in among the branches on this lovely evening. I'm so happy to have met her and get to share some loveliness with you! I'm sure you'll see more from our adventures among the plants!

Jasmine among the spring flowers

The splendor of the rose and the whiteness of the lily do not rob the little violet of it’s scent nor the daisy of its simple charm. If every tiny flower wanted to be a rose, spring would lose its loveliness.
— Thérèse de Lisieux

I absolutely love that Jaz [Jasmine] has the name of a flower as was willing to do a photo shoot with me among the blooming spring flowers! This last Sunday evening was simply wonderful! Jaz is such a sweet soul. It was such a pleasure to pin flowers in her hair and move the flowered branches to bring her in the midst of them. Thank you for such a wonderful Sunday evening, Jaz!

Below are some of my favorites!

Cameos, flowers, and pets with Amanda

Happiness radiates like the fragrance from a flower and draws all good things towards you.
— Maharishi Mahesh Yogi

I have a lovely idea for a lovely photos series, and Amanda was willing to be my first participant! We put beautiful pink waxflowers in her hair and shot some photos using enhanced natural light The theme is meant to mimic a vintage cameo, and in so doing, celebrate a combination of flowers and the woman wearing them.

Amanda is a wonderful person who is updating her lifestyle to a more minimalist fashion. She love her pets and is a wonderful person in her own being and nature! I'm so happy to call you a friend, Amanda!

I looked up meaning on waxflowers and found that they are often associated with riches and enduring wealth. The long lasting blooms make them a symbol for lasting success. The waxflower may also be used as a sign of lasting love or patience. I also found that they have been associated with Happiness in Marriage. So here's to enduring wealth, happiness, success, love, and happiness!

Thank you for doing these with me, Amanda! (Last two photos are for fun of Amanda with her pets!)

Sunday morning flowers

Life is amazing. And then it’s awful. And then it’s amazing again. And in between the amazing and awful it’s ordinary and mundane and routine. Breathe in the amazing, hold on through the awful, and relax and exhale during the ordinary. That’s just living heartbreaking, soul-healing, amazing, awful, ordinary life. And it’s breathtakingly beautiful.
— L.R. Knost

Because this, my dear friends, is what makes up life. I am finding such beautiful and amazing guidance in these days that are a mix of every piece of life. It's had it's disruptions of late. But then I find flowers for $5 and a warm sun on a Sunday morning, and I find a little bit of perfect happiness in the simple delights of creation, seeing, and stepping back into the simplicity of just being. Just see how the flowers like her pictures taken. What is her best side?

What are the ways we mark the days, the weeks, the months, the years? In this, I hope only to ever grow more into this beauty that surrounds. On the difficult days to be sure, but also in the waiting days, the still days, the moments of in between, and absolutely on the happy days. We each of us tend to live and look for the brightest and happiest days and seek to increase their measure, and for this, it is good, and right. But it is in those waiting days, those days where we must slow down whether by choice or necessity, or merely a simple life rhythm, that we can rest, and reacquaint our souls with those deep paths--that place where the heart seeks. And even still, in the difficult days, I remind myself that often the difficult days still bring us closer to where our heart longs to be, even if it hurts like crazy, even if there is loss that we cannot understand. Even in that, sometimes the difficult days remind me that it's okay to not understand--that I am not required to understand or make sense of everything. And some days when things are falling apart, you take some time to breath, and for me... find some flowers and herbs whenever possible.

So drink deeply of the day, even if all you drink of is simply the courage to move through it. There are bright days forever inward bound to you, to me, to us.
